Singapore: Hotel Room or Serviced Apartment?

The Family Room’s bunk-and-queen layout and an Executive suite’s cooking and laundry facilities serve different needs. Start with how your party will sleep.

Start with the beds and the facilities

The Family Room at Citadines Connect City Centre Singapore is worth considering if a queen-size bed and bunk bed suit your party. At Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road, Singapore, the 1 Bedroom Executive Suites put more emphasis on space for living, cooking and laundry. Choose between the two based on the beds you need and how much time you expect to spend in the accommodation. Pan Pacific’s minimum check-in age also matters: Guests must be at least 21 years of age to register and check in to a suite.

Match the beds before comparing space

The 38 m² Family Room combines a bunk bed with a queen-size bed. The 1 Bedroom Executive Suites measure 45 m² and list a king-sized bed, with separate living and dining areas. That extra seven square metres does not answer the bed question: the sleeping arrangements are different. Confirm that the selected room accepts your whole party, including each child’s age. A bunk-and-queen layout alone cannot guarantee that a particular family size is allowed.

Drinks and snacks, or cooking meals?

The Family Room lists coffee and tea making facilities, an electric kettle and a mini refrigerator. That is useful for drinks and small chilled items. If you want to cook, ask which cooking appliances come with the Family Room; the listed items alone do not tell you. The 1 Bedroom Executive Suites have a fully-equipped kitchen, giving you a reason to favour Pan Pacific if you expect to prepare meals. Think about the meals you would actually make before giving kitchen facilities much weight.

The separate living and dining areas in 1 Bedroom Executive Suites also give eating and relaxing their own space beyond the bedroom. That may matter if you expect to spend evenings inside. If you mainly need somewhere to sleep between outings, you may get less use from the separation.

Will you use the in-suite laundry?

The washer-cum-dryer in the kitchen of 1 Bedroom Executive Suites lets you wash clothes within the accommodation. If your packing plan depends on doing laundry during the trip, this is a useful feature to compare. If you do not expect to wash clothes, give it less weight than the sleeping arrangement and cooking facilities you will use.
